U.S. airlines have had to cancel over 700 flights as the federal government shutdown continues, according to CNBC.
Cuts on Friday are due to federal air traffic controller shortages, with workers missing their paychecks due to the longest shutdown in U.S. history.
Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, San Francisco International Airport and Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta have reported delayed flights.
So far, about 780 flights were canceled as of 1 p.m. on Friday. The Department of Transportation warned that cancellations could ramp up.
