A recent Business Outlook Survey from the Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce finds that its members are optimistic about the future of the area’s economy, according to a report from WisBusiness.

Eighty-one percent of survey respondents rated their company’s outlook as “good to excellent” over the next six months. That number rises to 88% for the next 12 months, and 86% for the next one to three years.

Seventy-seven percent of respondents expect sales totals this year to outperform their 2022 figures, while 70% expect first-quarter sales to exceed the comparable figure from last year.

Although the workforce shortage is the top area of concern for Oshkosh companies, 55% of respondents said they expect to hire more employees this year. The same percentage said they have unfilled job openings, an improvement from a reported 75% in the 2022 survey.
