Reich Brothers Holdings, headquartered in New York but with a Midwest office in Naperville, Ill., will purchase the shuttered Oscar Mayer plant at 910 Mayer Ave. by the end of October.
Terms were not disclosed, but the company is hoping to repurpose the eight-story building that once employed 4,000 workers.
It may take 10 years to completely revitalize the 72-acre property, and some parts could be demolished in the process, according to reports.
