Little John’s Kitchen, an organization providing meals to community members regardless of their ability to pay, is asking for help as it moves to expand and serve more people in need. The organization is looking to raise an additional $3 million to move into a new kitchen space in Fitchburg. At the current kitchen space, located inside the Verona Athletic Center, the organization is at full capacity and has had to turn away numerous organizations and families. The new kitchen will allow Little John’s to increase production from 5,500 meals per week to a minimum of 80,000 meals per week. A community campaign in 2021 resulted in $3 million in donations from corporate and individual donors including Pleasant Rowland, Diane Ballweg, One Community Bank, Integral Building Systems, Swink, WKOW, Alpha Graphics, Mid-West Family Madison, Custer Financial Services, Fitchburg Family Pharmacy, Saris, Madison Originals, Green Clock, and Overture Center for the Arts.
