Out Professional Engagement Network (OPEN) announced in a recent press release an addition to the nonprofit’s annual dinner taking place Oct. 3 at Madison’s Monona Terrace — an LGBTQIA+ affirming career fair with resume review services and a gender-affirming clothing closet. This year’s theme, “Breaking Barriers, Building Bridges,” encapsulates the volunteer-run organization’s mission to cultivate personal and professional leadership for LGBTQIA+ individuals while promoting inclusive and equitable workplaces and communities.
The event will include:
-
Networking opportunities with inclusive employers across a wide range of career fields;
-
Professional development with guidance on resume enhancement and interview skills; and

Community support that promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion.
The career fair will run from 2–5 p.m., followed by networking from 5:30–6:30 p.m. and dinner from 6:30–9 p.m. The career fair is free for jobseekers, and networking and dinner are ticketed separately. Businesses and organizations are invited to participate as sponsors and/or career fair vendors. Additional information is available here.
