A new real estate venture promising home buyers and home sellers a convenient way to sell or buy has raised more than $180,000 in seed funding that will be used for marketing and software development. OpenHomes, Inc., founded by local entrepreneur and former state Assembly member Kelda Roys, charges home sellers and buyers 1% commission and offers the ability to handle many property transaction tasks themselves, online, without the need for a traditional real estate agent. The site currently serves people in the Milwaukee and Madison areas, as well as Door County. Investors include CSA Partners, Angels on the Water, gener8tor, and others.
