Madison’s One City Schools launched an advocacy organization, One City Advocates (OCA), to push for policy changes ensuring equity, excellence, and opportunities for young people, WMTV15 reports. The nonpartisan organization will work to improve pre-K–16 education in Wisconsin.
One City founder and CEO Kaleem Caire said, “Some of the most profound legacies we can create as adults are the meaningful opportunities and pathways to success for future generations.”
OCA will work to:
-
Increase working families’ access to affordable child care programs;
Advertisement -
Advocate for policies and initiatives supporting quality K–12 education; and
-
Secure equal opportunities for students to access college and career preparation and training programs, tuition aid, and scholarships.
