The Associated Press reported a surge in oil prices on Thursday, with the price per barrel rising to just above $119 in the morning before dropping to $110.

That represents an increase of 3.2% from the previous day.

A barrel of benchmark U.S. crude increased 0.7% to $96.09. This has been due to Iran increasing attacks on oil and gas facilities after Israel attacked an Iranian natural gas field.
