The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics released employment stats, and the total of nonfarm payroll employment rose by 178,000 in March, while the unemployment rate changed slightly to 4.3% from 4.4% the previous month.
The report said job gains came in the health care, construction and transportation and warehousing sectors.
Also of note, federal government employment is declining.
