The Madison Urban Design Commission will hear a proposal from developers Blake Griffin and Marty Rifken to build a 90-unit, market-rate apartment complex at 1814 Packers Ave. on the city’s north side. The Elevation, a four-story complex, would be a convenient location for frequent travelers, as well as students attending Madison College’s Truax campus.

The Elevation’s ground floor would consist of a 14,000-square-foot fitness center available for tenants plus 2,700 square feet of retail space to include a new tavern named the Altitude Bar.

Plans call for a mix of floorplans from studios to three-bedrooms. About 60% of the units would rent for less than $1,000 a month, according to a story in the Wisconsin State Journal.
