Wisconsin Faith Voices for Justice (WFVJ), a nonprofit working to connect and empower faith communities, announced it has partnered with 100 Black Men of Madison, a nonprofit with a mission to improve the quality of life within its communities and enhance educational and economic opportunities for all African Americans.

The partners launched “The Talk,” a five-episode podcast event that brings together nine Jewish and African American teens from Madison area high schools to discuss topics ranging from food, clothing, music, and faith traditions to the education system, racism and antisemitism, and growing up in a predominately white and Christian society.

Both nonprofits will host a free launch party at Temple Beth El, 2702 Arbor Drive, on Sunday, Aug. 18. The event will feature a brief highlight from an episode of the podcast followed by a discussion with some of the podcast’s stars. Doors open at 2:45 p.m., and the event begins at 3:15 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Space is limited.

The podcast is supported by a grant from the Jewish Federation of Madison Cheryl Weston Fund. The Talk podcast can be found on Spotify, Amazon Music, and YouTube.
