Nonprofit ReMitts is turning old wool sweaters into handmade mittens to benefit food pantries in Dane County, according to NBC15. The wool mittens will be sold throughout November and December at a number of Dane County businesses, with proceeds going directly to St. Vincent de Paul, WayForward Resources, and the River Food Pantry.
ReMitts is currently accepting donations of 100% wool sweaters as well as buttons in all colors, shapes, and sizes. Monetary donations are also welcome to help with the purchase of supplies. A list of locations selling the mittens is available here.
