Nonprofit Joey’s Song has raised more than $1 million in donations for the fight against epilepsy after the organization’s Jan. 6 benefit concert. This year’s event made $325,000, bringing the total amount raised since 2010 to $1.3 million.

The Joseph Gomoll Foundation was established in 2010 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in memory of Joey, who suffered from a rare and debilitating form of epilepsy known as Dravet Syndrome. The foundation raises awareness and money for epilepsy research and program services for children with special needs.

Its annual concert brings in Grammy winners and Rock & Roll Hall of Famers in the music industry. Proceeds are given to epilepsy partners and researchers such as CURE Epilepsy, select Epilepsy Foundation affiliates, and Wisconsin Badger Camp.
