Madison nonprofit Employment Resources Inc. (ERI) announced it is joining the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy in recognition of National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM), an annual awareness campaign that takes place each October.
The purpose of National Disability Employment Awareness Month is to educate about disability employment issues and celebrate the contributions of America’s workers with disabilities. This year’s theme is “Advancing Access and Equity.”
ERI provides a variety of services throughout Wisconsin and beyond. Since 1990, ERI’s mission has been to practice and promote innovative services to advance employment opportunities, support personal choices, and enhance the well-being of people with disabilities.
ERI provides services for people with disabilities who are seeking stability, considering work, pursuing a job, or advancing in a career. Services include:
- Employment counseling;
- Work and benefits counseling;
- Ticket to Work;
- Youth transition planning; and
- Design and training for professionals in the employment and benefit fields.
