Nonprofit Developing Artists, Murals, and Alliances (DAMA) will host its first annual Masquerade Ball this Friday, Sept. 22, according to Madison365. The event, with a “Renaissance: The Youth Era” theme, will take place at The Labor Temple at 1602 S. Park St.
DAMA is a local organization that fosters youth development through artistic experiences and trains local artists to stabilize and transform communities.
The Masquerade Ball will begin with a 6 p.m. social hour and will feature dancing, refreshments, and creative talent including poetry on the spot, face art, magic, and more. DAMA will also present the following awards:
- The Visionary Arts Award to Sharon Kilfoy;
- The Above and Beyond Artists Award to Alicia Rheal;
- The Creative Economic Impact Award to Mark Fraire;
- The Outstanding Donor Award to Willian Reedy; and
- Discovery in the Arts Awards to Elizabeth Lozano-Naval, Chloe Manke, Abril Aleman Sorelo, and Mayela Torres.
The event is open to all age groups. Tickets are available online.
