Nonprofit DAMA to host Masquerade Ball this Friday

Nonprofit Developing Artists, Murals, and Alliances (DAMA) will host its first annual Masquerade Ball this Friday, Sept. 22, according to Madison365. The event, with a “Renaissance: The Youth Era” theme, will take place at The Labor Temple at 1602 S. Park St.

DAMA is a local organization that fosters youth development through artistic experiences and trains local artists to stabilize and transform communities. 

The Masquerade Ball will begin with a 6 p.m. social hour and will feature dancing, refreshments, and creative talent including poetry on the spot, face art, magic, and more. DAMA will also present the following awards:

  • The Visionary Arts Award to Sharon Kilfoy;
  • The Above and Beyond Artists Award to Alicia Rheal;
  • The Creative Economic Impact Award to Mark Fraire; 
  • The Outstanding Donor Award to Willian Reedy; and
  • Discovery in the Arts Awards to Elizabeth Lozano-Naval, Chloe Manke, Abril Aleman Sorelo, and Mayela Torres.

The event is open to all age groups. Tickets are available online.
