Nonprofit ABC announces record number of trade apprentices

Madison nonprofit the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) of Wisconsin this year saw a record number of active apprentices, with nearly 2,500 currently enrolled, WMTV15. ABC According to Apprentice Director Michael Mcdonald, the organization will start 600 new apprentices this year.

The apprenticeship program includes classwork as well as hands-on field training through partnerships with local construction companies. Of the program’s 13 different trades, Mcdonald says the most popular for apprenticeship are electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry.
