The Madison Black Chamber of Commerce has opened nominations for the 2025 Black Business Awards, celebrating Black-owned businesses in Madison, according to Madison365. This year’s theme, “Building Dreams: Honoring the Visionaries Who Build Foundations for Generations to Come,” spotlights businesses shaping communities and creating lasting legacies.
“This year, we’re focusing on visionary dream builders — those in construction, design, and infrastructure-related industries,” said Camille Carter, president of the Black Chamber. The awards will highlight businesses in categories such as residential and commercial design, general contracting, real estate, engineering, architecture, and the trades, reflecting a shift from last year’s focus on health and beauty.
Carter emphasized the importance of recognizing businesses that often work behind the scenes, navigating bids and securing opportunities. “These businesses are out there building, not always seen, but vital to our community,” she said.
Nominations are open until Jan. 10 at 11:59 p.m. and require the nominee’s name, business name, city, and a description of why they deserve recognition. Winners will be announced at the seventh annual Black Business Awards and Recognition Exhibition on Feb. 20.
