Video game fans inspired by “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” might want to purchase a Nintendo Switch console now before the price increases.
The current price of the console is set to increase by $50 to $499.99 on Sept. 1.
“Given that the impact of various changes in market conditions is expected to extend over the medium to long term, price revisions are also planned outside Japan,” Nintendo said in a statement.
All video game consoles are trending upward, a reverse of what used to be true. Before, consoles would hit price drops every so often. But with supply chains, oil and the economy struggling, console prices now trend upward instead of down.
