Dino Christ, the owner of Nick’s Restaurant at 226 State St., has reportedly listed the property for rent to gauge interest, saying the business will not close right away, according to the Wisconsin State Journal. The listing says the 3,000-square-foot space is available immediately for a five-year lease at $29 per square foot annually. The modified gross rent is $7,200 per month.
Christ has not given official word on whether or not there has been interest in the listing. The business has been in his family since the 1960s and has drawn in famous musicians, actors, and writers, including Joan Baez, Johnny Cash, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Roger Ebert, Bret Easton Ellis, Lenny Kravitz, Tom Wopat, and Robin Williams.
