During one of the most difficult years for locally-owned businesses across the state, the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) is urging continued support of Small Business Saturday (Nov. 28) during the pandemic. The event encourages people to support small businesses in a variety of ways on the Saturday following Thanksgiving and beyond.
NFIB says a series of surveys indicate 75% of small businesses would apply or consider applying for a second round of Paycheck Protection Program funding, showing that small businesses are still balancing the everyday needs of their business and the impact of COVID-19. The organization says showing support for local businesses on Small Business Saturday and throughout 2021 will help business owners get past the recent economic downturn.
