Reich Brothers Holdings has emerged as a potential buyer of the 72-acre Oscar Mayer meat processing plant on Madison’s north side, according to a report in the Wisconsin State Journal.

The firm’s interest was confirmed by CEO Adam Reich, who says Reich Brothers is in the early stages of conducting due diligence on a possible purchase. The firm is known for buying and selling the assets of so-called turnkey manufacturing facilities, particularly in food processing.

Reich, who runs the firm with co-CEO Jonathan Reich, notes that Reich Brothers is under contract with Oscar Mayer’s parent company, Kraft Heinz, for the opportunity to buy the property.

Reich Brothers is headquartered in White Plains, New York, but also has offices in Naperville, Ill. and Los Angeles.
