Whole Foods’ new location will open on Madison’s west side on Dec. 13, according to The Capital Times. The new space at 4710 Madison Yards Way will be open to the public at 9 a.m. as the company moves from its existing store on University Avenue.

The new Whole Foods will be part of the Madison Yards development currently under construction behind Hilldale; it is connected to EO Apartments, which opened Sept. 28. The store will be 50,000 square feet and offer organic produce from local farms and products for local providers including Sassy Cow Creamery, Rushing Waters Fisheries, New Glarus Brewing, and Hook’s Cheese Co. It will also feature a full-service meat counter, a coffee bar, and a bakery department with offerings from La Fournetter, La Campagne Bakery, and Bunky’s Cafe.

The grand opening event will include live music, complimentary coffee, and a limited-edition tote bag for the first 300 shoppers.

Whole Foods is also donating a refrigerated van to the River Food Pantry as part of its Nourishing Our Neighborhoods program.
