New vehicle sales slide

Compared to March 2012, sales of new cars hit the brakes in March in the nine-county south central region, according to Reg-Trak of Waterloo. Regionally, sales were down 6.48%, although truck sales rose just over 3%. In Dane County, though, vehicle sales fell 8.39% compared to the previous year, with truck sales also declining. Still, year-to-date through March, Dane County’s vehicle sales are up nearly 7% over last year.
