New vehicle sales down slightly in Dane County

New car sales in Dane County dropped 14.68% in May, from 1,076 cars sold in May 2013 to 918 sold a year later, according to Reg-Trak of Waterloo. In the nine-county region including Dane County, car sales declined 6.16%, with 3,856 cars sold in May compared to 4,109 a year earlier. Meanwhile, truck sales in Dane County increased 5.43% year over year, from 1,086 to 1,145 sold in May. Year-to-date through May, Dane County new vehicle sales are down 1.18%, with a total of 9,014 vehicles sold compared to 9,122 for the same period in 2013.
