Pasqual’s Cantina owner Ben Roberts is opening a new restaurant, Taberna Tacos & Tequila, on Monroe Street, according to the Wisconsin State Journal. Roberts plans to open by May 8 at 1925 Monroe St. in the 2,000-square-foot former Berke & Benham Seafood Market space.
Taberna will be a “taco sports bar” with seating for 28 at its long bar. The space has undergone some renovations. The restaurant’s menu will offer three types of tacos: traditional Mexican tacos, luxury tacos, and Americanized tacos. It will also serve seven margaritas, six other cocktails, and several mezcals.
The restaurant has hired a team of cooks in preparation for its upcoming opening.
