A recently published study by Madison-based FluGen shows that nearly 81% of adults who got a high dose of Madison-based FluGen’s experimental flu vaccine had a broad immune response and 71% had a significant response to a particular flu protein, according to a release from the company. The company is currently raising money and exploring relationships with large drug companies to conduct larger studies that could lead to the approval of its intranasal vaccine within four years. FluGen is also working to combine flu and COVID-19 vaccines into one vaccine. The method could also be applied to a respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccine.
