New restaurant to open on Sherman Avenue

Zippy Lube Coffee, Donuts & Fried Chicken will open at a former Zippy Lube service station at 2013 N. Sherman Ave. in September, according to a Capital Timesreport. Owner Ben Altschul acquired the property nearly five years ago and has been working on transforming the garage into a primarily take-out restaurant that will serve donuts, coffee, and pressure-fried chicken. Altschul’s other ventures include Tip Top Tavern, North Street Cabaret, Lazy Jane’s Café, Gil’s, Mickey’s Tavern, and Grampa’s Pizzeria. The business will not apply for a liquor license but is adjacent to Busse’s Tavern.
