Dane County Board member Jeff Weigand wants to downsize the County Board from 37 districts to 27 in 2028, the Cap Times reported

He said his proposal will save money.

The proposal was introduced on Feb. 12, two days after Madison City Council members entertained the possibility of consolidating its number of council districts.

Weigand’s proposal was referred to the county’s Personnel and Finance Committee, which will meet after the April 7 Spring Election.
