Operation Fresh Start (OFS) has launched a new program, Conservation Graduate Crew, to provide preparation for careers in natural resource management, according to a statement from the organization. The program is the only advanced-level paid opportunity for Dane County young adults in the conservation field. Participants in the program will work and train with industry professionals and gain hands-on experience working in parks and natural areas throughout south-central Wisconsin. The work is rigorous and fast-paced to mimic what a real career in the fields of parks, forestry, land conservation, or landscaping would be like. People of color make up 80% of the people OFS serves and low-income individuals make up 73%.
