A new organization, Petal it Forward, provides donated flower arrangements to Dane County nursing homes, hospitals, and similar facilities, according to the Wisconsin State Journal. Owner Schyler Arthur aims to repurpose the flowers typically wasted following weddings or other events by facilitating bouquet pickups, rearrangements, and drop-offs to places in need.

Arthur launched Petal it Forward last month and plans to gradually scale the operation with additional time and manpower. Donations are set for the Ronald McDonald House in Madison and a nursing home.

The organization currently relies on donations from newlyweds, event planners, and related positions, and will for now maintain a local focus. Its nonprofit status is pending.
