Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway announced that Connie Thompson will become the executive director at Monona Terrace, succeeding Gregg McManners, who recently retired after 17 years at the facility and nine years leading it.

Thompson is a familiar face around Monona Terrace. She has worked at Monona Terrace for 20 years in various management roles, most recently as the associate director of operations and quality.

In the lead role, she will oversee both the public venue aspects of the Frank Lloyd Wright-inspired building and the convention center. Thompson will make about $135,000 annually and manage a budget of around $15.3 million, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report.
