A new convenience store, Mini-Mart, is preparing to open soon in a recently completed mixed-use building at 823 Williamson St., filling a gap in services on the west end of the street, according to a report from WORT.
Owned by Amit Kumar and Rajan Talwar of MPL Corporation Investment, the store will offer a range of goods including groceries, ice cream, coffee, lottery tickets, and alcohol, pending final approval of an alcohol license. The Marquette Neighborhood Association and community members have largely supported the business, which is expected to enhance the walkability of the area and provide convenient options for residents.
The store has received conditional approval for its alcohol license from the neighborhood association and the city’s Alcohol License Review Committee, with restrictions on the sale of certain alcohol types. The license will now go to the Common Council for final approval.
