A new Mexican restaurant, Casa Zaragoza, is coming to a former warehouse at 1824 S. Park St. in a move two years in the making, according to The Capital Times. Owner Oscar Zaragoza plans to open the restaurant in late September, reinventing east side Madison’s Cuco’s restaurant, which closed in 2022.

The restaurant will offer the same menu as Cuco’s — including tacos, enchiladas, and burritos — in addition to new entrees, vegan options, and margaritas. It will have indoor seating for 70 and a patio space with a 35-person capacity. The spot will also host karaoke nights every Friday and Saturday and feature a 200-person, 2,400-square-foot private event space.

Zaragoza has obtained alcohol and entertainment licenses, but an extensive renovation of the warehouse space is still underway. Once open, the restaurant will have operating hours on Sunday from 11 a.m.–8 p.m., Monday–Thursday from 11 a.m.–9 p.m., and Friday–Saturday from 11 a.m.–midnight.
