A new Madison Metro Market held a grand opening to fight food insecurity on Friday, according to NBC15. The Metro Market will replace a former Pick ‘n Save on Junction Road.

The University of Wisconsin Badger Band was present to mark the relaunch, as was former Green Bay Packer Leroy Butler. The Madison Police and Fire Department distributed $2,000 worth of gift cards, and the store also donated $2,500 to Extended Hands Food Pantry.

Metro Market says it spent $3 million on the store’s transformation.
