The Cap Times reports a new law will make it easier for respiratory therapists to begin working in Wisconsin to ease workforce shortages.

The move aims to allow workers coming from other states to begin practicing immediately in Wisconsin after relocation. It requires a license to be in good standing in the state where the therapist was practicing before moving to Wisconsin.

Respiratory therapists are among the 10 hospital professions with the highest vacancy rates, according to a 2025 report from the Wisconsin Hospital Association.
