Erica and Brian Ni have opened Yume Japanese Restaurant in the former Wasabi location at 449 State St.

Originally the Nis opened as Wasabi — without a name change — but reconsidered a few days later. Wasabi closed in July and was owned by Ken Katsuma.

The Ni family owns two Takara restaurants in the area, and co-owns Ramen Station on Park Street with another partner.

Another State Street Takara restaurant the Ni family owned left in 2016 due to high rent, according to a Wisconsin State Journalarticle.
