Proposals to close the budget gap in the Dane County jail project present two different options, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report. The first option would add $24 million in funding and the second would reduce the scope of the construction project. The options were presented last week and are scheduled to be considered by the separate committees beginning Jan 11. Both proposals are significantly above the allocated budget of $148 million. A three-fourths majority vote from the County Board would be required for either proposal since they require additional funds.
