Kevin Thornberg will open a new game store in the Waunakee Village Mall this week, according to the Waunakee Tribune. Currently, the nearest game store to the Waunakee School District is around 25 minutes away.
Game Haven will offer board games, card games, role playing games, video games, and puzzles. It will also offer a space to play with the capacity to seat 40 people.
Thornberg is planning a collaboration with the Waunakee Public Library, school district, and gaming clubs to increase game accessibility across the community.
Game Haven will open at 229 S. Century ave. on Sept. 7 at 10 a.m. It will offer free door prizes from game designers and area businesses and feature food trucks including Kona Ice and Lundy’s Ice Cream.
