Electronic medical records rules designed to make the sharing of patient health data easier were recently released, according to a story in the Wisconsin State Journal.

The federal rules, opposed by Epic Systems Corp. and supported by Apple and Microsoft, were proposed in February 2019 by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

Epic responded to the announcement stating they will review the rules before making any judgments.
