A proposed bill would allow anyone in Wisconsin to place sports bets online by connecting to servers on tribal lands, where it is legal, according to a Wisconsin Public Radio report.
Wisconsin’s constitution does not allow betting outside of tribal lands. But the bill would allow for remote betting through these servers, a “hub-and-spoke” approach first started in Florida.
The bipartisan group behind the bill expects a 10% increase in gambling tax revenue if the bill is signed into law.
