According to TMJ4, Madison-based FPC Live is planning to proceed with a new live performance facility in downtown Milwaukee’s Deer District, but a new configuration drops one of the two venues previously planned.

The proposal modifies the plan approved by the Milwaukee Common Council in November 2022, dropping one original venue with a capacity of 800 but including a 4,500-capacity venue. FPC Live will submit its revised plan on Friday for another round of city reviews.

If approved, work on the project could begin as soon as November of this year. Work would start with underground utilities and stormwater hardware ahead of the winter months, and the construction timeline would span at least 18 months. If it is delayed due to Fiserv Forum hosting the Republican National Convention in July 2024, the timeline could be altered with a new completion date in spring of 2025.

The project cost is now over $60 million, up from a previous estimate of $50 million. FPC Live says the project is relying 100% on private financing.
