Madison medical device company NeuWave Medical received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for a new software package to use in conjunction with its cancer-fighting ablation device that destroys lesions and tumors with microwave energy.

Now, the Madison medical device company will be able to sell a tool to go along with the device to make the treatment faster and more accurate, and to digitally archive the results.

The newly approved software can process CT images in real time, speeding up treatment, allowing doctors to more accurately determine in an entire mass has been treated, and enabling digital archives of the procedure.
