Formed in late 2018, the growing UJAMAA Business Network aims to empower entrepreneurs of color, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report. The network, designed for entrepreneurs, hopes to provide Wisconsin business owners of color with knowledge, skills, and resources for growing their businesses. The organization is titled after the African economic principle with the same name that means to build one’s own business, control what one’s community produces, and share in that work and wealth. The network has about 50 vendors from Dane, Rock, and other counties that display at city events such as the Willy Street Fair and the Downtown Madison Night Market.
