The Wisconsin Public Service Commission has awarded close to $125 million in grants to help expand access to high-speed internet service, according to a Wisconsin State Journalreport. The funds aim to bring broadband service to nearly 83,000 homes and more than 4,500 businesses in Wisconsin. Utility regulators state the grants will fund 71 projects in 45 counties, leveraging nearly $185.8 million in matching funds. These latest awards bring the total funding to $346.6 million throughout the nine-year broadband expansion program.
