After 40 years in operation, the owners of the Nau-Ti-Gal waterfront restaurant confirmed plans to close the Westport establishment but expand their live music schedule and lawn seating at their remaining restaurant, Mariner’s Inn, according to an article in the Wisconsin State Journal. Brothers Bill and Jack von Rutenberg announced the closing last week, noting they would accommodate their Nau-Ti-Gal customers’ food, beverage, and entertainment needs at Mariner’s Inn, 5339 Lighthouse Bay Drive in Madison.

Meanwhile, the von Rutenbergs also indicated that LZ Ventures is working on concepts for redeveloping the Nau-Ti-Gal property. Earlier this month, the Waunakee Tribunereported that LZ’s redevelopment plans include a high-rise apartment building.
