The national unemployment rate remained at 4.9% in July, as non-farm employment grew by a healthy 255,000 jobs due primarily to professional and business services (70,000), health care (43,000), and financial activity sectors (18,000).
The number of unemployed people also remained the same, at 7.8 million.
