Middleton’s National Mustard Museum has announced its Mustard Day celebration, a tradition since 1991, that will take place on Aug. 5 this year. The event will take place on the street in front of the museum, located at 7477 Hubbard Ave.
The celebration will include hot dogs and bratwurst, Razzle Dazzle mustard ice cream from Madison’s Chocolate Shoppe, mustard tastings, additional food offerings, live music, and mustard games for children of all ages. Ketchup is not allowed on the grounds.
The National Mustard Museum recently concluded the annual World-Wide Mustard Competition and on Mustard Day visitors will have the opportunity to taste many of the medal-winning mustards, including the 2023 Grand Champion Kelley’s Gourmet Stone Ground Mustard. Mustard guru Kevin Kelley will be on hand to sample his Grand Champion mustard.
Milwaukee Brewer legend and two-time American League home run champion Stormin’ Gorman Thomas will attend the event with his award-winning, mustard-based “Stormin’ Sauce” as well.
Also featured will be Main Mustard Stage performances by the Blue Accordion, the John Masino Band, and Frank Martin Busch and the Names. Kids Are People Too! will perform interactive rock ‘n roll shows for families as well.
The day will wrap up with a raffle drawing at 4 p.m. The 50/50 raffle benefits the nonprofit National Mustard Museum, with half the proceeds of ticket sales going to the nonprofit and half going to one lucky winner. Nine other prizes will be awarded.
