National accounting firms to merge

Two top-20 accounting firms, BKD with Madison operations, and Dixon Hughes Goodman (DHG), announced they will merge to create a new, national professional services firm with $1.4 billion in revenue. The merger of equals is expected to close in the second quarter of 2022, subject to the satisfaction of customary closing conditions. BKD CEO Tom Watson will serve as the CEO of the new organization, and Matt Snow, the current CEO of DHG, will serve as the chair. The new firm will have more than 5,400 employees across 68 markets in 27 states and the United Kingdom and the Cayman Islands.
