The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Dane County on Saturday, Oct. 5 will host its annual NAMIWalks fundraiser to increase community awareness of the importance of mental health services and resources. The event will be held at Olin Park, 1156 Olin-Turville Court, from 10:30 a.m.–2:30 p.m.
A 5k route will follow the Capital City Bike Path along John Nolen Drive to the Monona Terrace. There will also be an alternate two-mile route running along the Wingra Creek Bike Path from Olin Park to Bernie’s Beach.
There will be breakfast provided from 10:30 a.m.–noon, along with family-friendly entertainment including a bounce house, play area, a Taiko drumming performance, and more. The walks will begin at noon, followed by lunch and refreshments at Olin Park starting at 1 p.m.
NAMI Dane County has currently reached 70% of its fundraising goal of $275,000.
