My Sister’s Kitchen, which closed its Middleton location last August, is preparing to open its new doors in Mazomanie on Tuesday, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.
Owner Shelly Skinner had hoped to keep the beloved breakfast-and-lunch spot in Middleton but ultimately decided to purchase the former R&J’s Saloon building at 8 American Legion St. After a six-month search, she found this new location, which is closer to her home in Arena, making the commute more convenient.
While Skinner has never served alcohol before, the new location will allow customers to enjoy Bloody Marys and screwdrivers with their meals.
Additionally, Skinner intends to introduce dinner service two nights a week once she hires more staff. She previously owned My Sister’s Kitchen on Parmenter Street in Middleton for eight years, where she was known for making all the specials, soups, and chili herself, often using produce from her garden.
